Brazilian scientists did a study on the relationship between CBD and anxiety, this time on human patients. This was a double-blind study on humans afflicted with generalized social anxiety.

Patients were asked to consume CBD with an oral dose of 400 mg and placebo. Brain scans were performed to carry out suitable tests. 

Not only did the patients dosed with CBD report feeling better than the patients that consumed the placebo, but their brain scans showed cerebral blood flow patterns that are in-line with anti-anxiety efforts. Their results conclusively proved the efficiency of CBD for anxiety.

In another study, researchers gave CBD to patients suffering from social anxiety disorder and social phobias. They received either 600 mg dose of CBD or placebo.

The participants using CBD were able to reduce their anxiety, discomfort in speech, and cognitive impairment. 

While more research, including double-blinded randomized placebo controlled trials, are needed to closely examine the long term effects of CBD, the overwhelming evidence from animal studies and human studies of patients with anxiety disorders highlights the potential role of cannabis oil for anxiety.
